Fresh from being watched by millions on series two of the BBC’s acclaimed Celebrity Traitors, Sebastian Croft today announces his new weekly podcast, The Sunday Scaries with Bash Croft, from the award-winning production company, Persephonica.
The first episode is out Sunday 1st November - with new friends then joining Bash on the blue sofa every week at the same time.
Sundays are terrifying. The weekend’s nearly over. Your screen time is humiliating. Fortunately, Bash Croft and his friends are on hand to wrap up the week and make your Sunday suck that little bit less by sharing their anxieties and exorcising their woes.
Each week, Bash is joined by special guests or his friends to catch-up on the past week, what they were dreading about it and any wins they might have had - including nominating their all-important Flop of the Week and Slay of the Week.
Bash and his friends will also press play on the answer phone machine to advise on listener’s dilemmas and personal wins from the week, before finally ‘ditching the dread’ to look forward (or not) to the week ahead.
Bash Croft said: “My Sundays are usually spent with friends, playing games, chatting about our weeks, what’s going on in the world and what we’re loving or hating at the moment, and also with a healthy pinch of existential dread of the week to come, so it felt like the perfect fit to bring to life. So many people I know find Sundays daunting or lonely, and just want to have a laugh and chat about the week before and the week ahead. So I want the podcast to feel like you’re sitting on the sofa with us, having completely honest, unfiltered chats with friends. Different guests every week, highs and lows, laughs and moans! Hopefully, it’ll make everyone’s Sunday feel a little brighter and the week ahead a little less daunting.”
Dino Sofos, Founder and CEO of Persephonica, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching Bash's Sunday Scaries with Sebastian, who has become THE breakout star of this series of Celebrity Traitors. Already loved by a huge and passionate fanbase around the world, Bash has now won over a whole new audience, and we’re incredibly excited to build on that momentum. Sunday Scaries is a fresh take on a weekly entertainment show - a feel-good antidote to the Sunday dread that gives audiences something to look forward to at the end of the weekend.
At Persephonica, we love working with the world's best hosts to create innovative entertainment formats. This is a show designed from the outset for YouTube, social media and podcast platforms. We think it’s going to be a must-watch and must-listen for Bash’s long-standing fans and the new audience who have discovered him.”
