Senior Videographer and Editor

Persephonica is looking for an exceptional Senior Videographer and Editor to lead and elevate our video output as we scale. This is an exciting, hands-on role for someone who can shape, deliver and grow high-impact video content across both our factual and entertainment slate across both our long-form and short-form content. You will work closely with our Executive Producers (Factual & Entertainment) and Head of Creative Development to define our video strategy, build new formats, and grow audiences across YouTube and social platforms. You will have advanced editing experience and know how to set up a shoot, including running cameras. You will be supported by audio producers but must have a strong understanding of how to capture high-quality audio for video.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing our studio in London and working with our production teams to ensure the smooth running of our in-person and remote recording sessions, including file organisation, and studio turnaround.

  • Work with our Production and Operations Assistant to coordinate remote and studio kit logging and management. This will include working with the finance team to ensure budgets are met.

  • Find efficiencies in our video production processes and assist with the sourcing of freelance video staff to ensure projects are effectively staffed. 

  • You will work with our teams to develop strategies to grow audiences across YouTube and our social platforms. 

  • You will bring new ideas and feed into strategy conversations on pitching opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate will...

Be a highly capable, creative and organised video leader who enjoys working across multiple projects. 

  • You will have a minimum three years of demonstrable experience working across multiple podcast shows, with clear evidence of audience growth and engagement.

  • Confident running shoots: cameras (including 4K), lighting, and set-ups and will work with producers to ensure good audio quality. 

  • You will have extensive remote recording experience and will be confident with setting up audio and video recordings using remote software including OBS and Riverside. 

  • You will have a deep understanding of what works on socials and how we can maximise our long-form content. 

  • You will be extremely proficient in video editing and will have experience of training up less experienced members of staff. Knowledge of Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects is essential. Knowledge of other software including OBS, Descript and Riverside is preferred. 

  • You will be able to  identify stories and tell them in creative and innovative ways.

  • You will have experience in working with high-profile talent and big name guests. 

  • You will be a highly-organised team player and a great communicator with the ability to manage a project with tight deadlines.

  • You will have experience of working in busy and demanding environments.

Location

This is a hybrid, three day-a-week role. Our shows are mostly recorded in London so you will be working there regularly. 

Many of our productions are remote and you will be able to oversee those from the London office. Persephonica’s HQ is in Sheffield so occasional travel there for development days and company meetings will also be expected.

Payment

£40-45k p/a pro rata
