The Role
We’re looking for an part time Finance Assistant based at our Sheffield HQ.
You will be expected to manage the accounts inbox (accounts payable and receivable), and maintain bookkeeping in Xero on a weekly basis to facilitate answering ad hoc financial queries from Management. You will work closely with producers to track financial performance of individual shows, to ensure they stay within budget. There will also be some project-work in Xero such as working with our Finance Consultant to re-design the chart of accounts to better serve the business’ analytical requirements.
This role is suited to someone looking for flexibility when it comes to working time/hours, being a 3-day a week position that could be worked as 3 days, or spread as reduced hours across 4 or 5 days. We expect you to attend the Sheffield office on at least 2 days of the week, as we maintain a collaborative office culture and would love for you to be a part of it. There is potential for quick career progression given our exciting growth and a desire to bring more of our finance function in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement all accounts procedures; record sales and purchase invoices, record income and perform bank reconciliations in Xero.
Maintain customer and supplier records in Xero.
Maintain and update other financial records in Xero, including data entry for expenses and receipts
Administer the ‘Accounts’ email inbox
Prepare monthly management accounts from Xero, and work with our Finance Consultant to provide commentary regarding any areas you think Senior Management should be aware of.
Support budgeting and forecasting by collecting, preparing, and validating financial data.
Maintain an ongoing line of communication with the production teams re show KPIs, and participate in a weekly check-in meeting with producers and Management to track show budgets
Collaborate with external accountants for the preparation of VAT returns, payroll support and statutory year-end accounts.
Ad-hoc Xero and other finance-related projects
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience working within a finance team, and ideally progressing with AAT qualifications or equivalent
Proficiency with Xero (essential)
Confident with Excel
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
Flexible and collaborative approach, suited to a fast-paced, evolving environment
Salary: £30,000 FTE (£18,000 pro rata)
