Executive Producer (Factual)

Persephonica is looking for an exceptional Executive Producer to lead our slate of factual shows. We are seeking someone who can shape and deliver high-impact, informative and entertaining storytelling. You will oversee established titles including 'Political Currency' and 'Outrage + Optimism: The Climate Podcast', while also developing an exciting slate of new shows, including history and true-crime formats. You must have demonstrable experience creating and launching successful shows, with a 360 approach to podcasting across audio, video and social platforms - with a strong instinct for spotting the next big hit.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will oversee production teams to deliver regular output across multiple shows. You will be responsible for ensuring each show is staffed appropriately and that deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.

  • You will be responsible for signing off the content and will have high standards, sound editorial judgement, a strong knowledge of media law and an eye for detail.

  • You will identify ways to grow the shows on RSS and social platforms - including YouTube - and will bring a passion for deepening audience engagement.

  • You will work with our Development lead to pitch new ideas for current affairs shows, attract new talent and win business.

  • You will work with the wider team to ensure production kit and resources are well managed.

  • You will work closely with the Finance team to ensure shows are delivered on budget.

Requirements

  • You will have at least three years’ demonstrable experience in a senior role with clear evidence of shows you have created and grown.

  • We're looking for someone with significant journalistic experience and exceptional editorial judgement.

  • You will have a strong journalistic drive with the ability to identify stories and tell them in creative and innovative ways.

  • You will be a highly-organised team player and a great communicator with the ability to manage a project with tight deadlines.

  • You will be confident in running studio recording sessions and using equipment such as Rodecasters. You will have experience recording on location and will be able to teach more junior members of staff.

  • You will have audio and/or video editing experience.

  • You will have experience of working in busy and demanding environments.

  • You will have experience in audience engagement and community management, curating content for platforms like Patreon and Substack.

  • You will have experience in supporting upcoming production talent and editorial staff.

  • You will have experience in working with high-profile talent and big name guests, and an impressive black book.

About Persephonica

We create premium, habit-forming podcasts, fronted by the world’s biggest talent. Our credits include The News Agents, Miss Me? with Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, Political Currency with George Osborne and Ed Balls, Dig It with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball and At Your Service with Dua Lipa.

You will be joining a supportive team which values our production talent as much as the huge names we work with in front of the mic. We are committed to diversifying the audio industry - particularly by supporting people from lower income backgrounds.

You will be joining an exciting, fast-paced company. We are a small but growing team, who think on our feet and have exceptionally high standards.

Deadline for application:
Thursday 22nd of January 2026.

Salary:
Circa £60,000 dependent on experience and suitability.

Location:
This is a hybrid role. Our factual shows are mostly recorded in London so you will be working there regularly. Persephonica’s HQ is in Sheffield so occasional travel there for development days and company meetings will also be expected.

To apply please email hello@persephonica.com with the subject: EXEC PRODUCER (FACTUAL)

Please submit a short cover note (max 250 words) as to why you are the best person for the role. We’d also like to see your CV and any examples of your finest work - please send links rather than attaching files. You must have the right to work full time in the UK.

Please ensure that you meet the requirements before applying - only applications that do will be considered. We are a small company, and due to the high number of applications we receive, we are afraid that we are unable to reply to candidates who have not made it to the next stage of the recruitment process.
