Assistant Producer (Freelance)

Persephonica is looking for an experienced Assistant Producer to join the Outrage and Optimism team, supporting weekly audio and video production. This is a role covering production, editing, and operational support, helping the team manage capacity as it increasingly focuses on long-term planning, media strategy, and partnerships.

The Role & Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form clips (up to 3 per week) from audio and video recordings

  • Support and potentially manage editing of mid-length YouTube content

  • Carry out long-form editing as required

  • Provide technical support during recording sessions (e.g. troubleshooting microphone issues)

  • Adapt quickly to new topics and changing recording schedules

The Ideal Candidate will...

  • Be proficient in both audio and video editing

  • Have experience producing and/or editing short-form and long-form content

  • Be flexible and adaptable, comfortable with shifting schedules and topics

  • Possess strong organisational skills for diary management and guest onboarding

  • Have an interest in current affairs or climate topics is a plus, but not required

Location

This is a hybrid role. Our head office is in Sheffield and we have desk space in East London. Some work will be remote, but travel to locations will be required.

Rate

Based on skills and experience. We work on both a day rate and project fee basis.
